CAC Market Shows Gloomy Performance in the First Half of the Year
This year has seen outbreaks of pandemic across China, exerting a stronger adverse effect on economic development, and the unexpected suddenness caused severe shocks, putting huge pressure on a decreasing economy in the second quarter of the year.
In the first quarter, the commercial air conditioner (CAC) market continued a growing trend in the first half of the year, presenting sound growth. However, due to the impact of the pandemic and control in the real estate industry, the second quarter saw a severe impact on product delivery. According to statistics on Aircon.com, the CAC market volume only saw a 1.7% growth rate in China in the first half of 2022, attributed to the following factors.
CAC has been impacted by multiple factors, such as the pandemic, logistics, production, capital and project cycles.
Real estate industry development is currently gloomy, and industry uncertainty is increasing, making it the biggest resistance in market growth.
Price increases are an important factor in boosting market growth. Prices rise by 3 to 10% every time, and some enterprises have seen the most recent price increase in June or July, leading to large amount of stocking up on standard CACs by dealers.
Screw chillers, unitary chillers, and modular chillers have seen market declines, and centrifugal chillers and variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems enjoyed market growth. Growth in centrifugal chillers was attributed to demand for this type of products by some popular industries; and growth in VRF was attributed to growth in the home decoration retail market. The home decoration retail market achieved a small amount of growth, adding the largest momentum towards fostering market growth.
