The expectation of global inflation is rising, impeding development of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.
First of all, the sharply increased copper price is not friendly to air conditioner manufacturers. As a large amount of copper is used in air conditioner components, copper price increases will directly affect the HVAC industry.
Ever since the copper price increases began, many home appliance manufacturers began announcing price increases; wall-mounted air conditioner prices rose by RMB 200 to 300 (about US$ 29.0 to 43.5), floor-standing air conditioner prices increased by RMB 300 to 500 (about US$ 43.5 to 72.5); and some brands also increased the prices of components by nearly 4%.
Secondly, there is big possibility of major fluctuations in cooper prices for the near future. There has always been large worldwide demand for copper. In the long run, new energy will continue to drive copper demand, and the upcoming peak season that will digest inventory will strongly support copper prices, leading to the possibility of long-term fluctuations in copper prices.
Since January, heating and refrigeration component manufacturers have increased prices, and at the same time, leading heating and air conditioning brands have all announced price increases of between 4 and 11%.
It is expected that the terminal retail price of residential air conditioners and heating will rise by 20 to 30% in the domestic market this year.
